Birthstone Challenge #8 Sapphire: blue dry marble

Another months has come and gone, and today we have another chapter of the Birthstone Challenge with September's gemstone, the sapphire. This gem has always been one of my favorites. Sapphires come in all colors, though some of the most precious ones are blue, and the stone itself symbolizes loyalty.
Un altro mese è passato senza farsi notare, e oggi abbiamo un nuovo capitolo della Birthstone Challenge che ha come pietra protagonista lo zaffiro. Questa gemma è tra le mie preferite. Gli zaffiri si trovano in tanti colori, ma tra i più preziosi vi sono quelli blu. Si dice sia la pietra che simboleggia la lealtà.

For my nail art I first chose one color, Collistar - Blu Lamé-Mat, which is a nice blue creme with lots of silver and blue shimmer. The blue though was not blue enough for me, so I added some drops of China Glaze - Eyes Like Sapphires on top and swirled it with a brush created a subtle dry marble effect.
Per la mia nail art avevo scelto un blu molto freddo, Collistar - Blu Lamé-Mat, con shimmer argento e blu, ma non era blu abbastanza per la sottoscritta. Ho aggiunto una passata di collistar e qualche goccia di China Glaze - Eyes Like Sapphires per creare un effetto dry marble.

The dry marble isn't too obvious since the base color is pretty dark, but the electric blue shines through. It was a great way to try out the dry marble technique for the first time.

L'effetto non è evidentissimo data la somiglianza dei due colori, ma alla luce il blu elettrico è molto evidente. Diciamo che è stato un ottimo modo per provare la tecnica dry marble per la prima volta,
