What better way to start off the new year than with a great nail art challenge? The lovely Elena from Ere K.'s Beauty Shelf asked me to take part in a monthly challenge to recreate the colors and textures of birthstones, and I couldn't say no. January's birthstone is the garnet. This rough and uneven stone is found in a variety of colors but is normally associated with reddish-brown colors.
Quale modo migliore di una nuova sfida per cominciare l'anno nuovo? La splendida Elena di Ere K.'s Beauty Shelf mi ha chiesto di partecipare a questa challenge mensile ricreando i colori e le texture delle pietre preziose e non ho potuto rifiutare. La pietra del mese è il granato, pietra dalla superficie grezza e irregolare associata normalmente al colore rosso e al marrone.
To start off I applied one coat of OPI Barefoot in Barcelona to make the colors stand out more. Then I sponged two red colors by Kiko: 365 Tattoo Rose and 364 Dark Crimson; and topped it off with OPI Can you Tapas This, a wine red with purplish undertones, and Suzi Says Da!, dark brown with red undertones.
Per la base ho usato una passata di OPI Barefoot in Barcelona per fare risaltare al meglio i colori. Con una spugnetta ho applicato in modo casuale due smalti color vino: Kiko 365 Rosa Tattoo e 364 Cremisi Scuro, terminando con OPI Can you Tapas This, colore rosso vino con sottotono viola accentuato, e Suzi Says Da!, marrone scuro con sottotoni rossi. Top coat per dare brillantezza.
